Elf by day... Movie star by night! - Day 7

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But a SHOW would be delightful
And since we've no place to go...
Let's watch a show, Let's watch a show, Let's watch a show!

Santa Envy - Day 6

When, what to my wondering eyes
should appear,
But a miniature sleigh
and a GIANT reindeer!

(Fun memories: This morning at breakfast, Carson looked like he was in the depths of despair.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I don't want the Elf to leave," Carson said.
"He's staying with us for 19 more days! That's a long time!" I said.
"I know... but then he'll leave," said Carson. "And it's so fun to see where he's at each morning... I don't want him to leave!!!")

He NOSE If You've Been Bad or Good! - Day 4

Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a vey shiny nose.
And if you ever saw it,
You would even say it glowed!

No... those aren't giant pimples! They're Rudolph noses, you silly! Cocoa the Elf must be missing his North Pole friends. We had a good laugh waking up to that one! Cocoa's silly pranks are sure filling the household with excitement. Check out how the Stevens kids went to school today... They look a lot like their new visitor!

Elf Happenings - Day 3

"First we'll make snow angels for two hours, then we'll go ice skating, then we'll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse cookie-dough as fast as we can, and then we'll snuggle."--Buddy the Elf

The 24th Day Before Christmas

On the 24th day of Christmas
Cocoa gave to me...
A red and green snowflake potty!

(Fun memories:  Carson woke up first thing, came to our room, and said, "He's good, Dad. He's good. I can't find him anywhere. Get up, Dad! Help me find the elf!" After searching upstairs and down, he casually walked by the bathroom, glanced in, and then sprinted away--half ecstatic/half scared!! The kids spent a lot of time in the bathroom this morning... Carson said, "I just can't stop looking at it! It's so cool!")

The 25th Night Before Christmas

Twas' the 25th night before Christmas,
when all through the Stevens' house
A creature WAS stirring...
about the size of a mouse!

The stocking were hung
by the chimney with care,
But no one was expecting
a magical visitor to appear!

And Papa in his PJ's
and I in my cap,
Had just settled down
for a long winter's nap--

When out in the kitchen
there rose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed
to see what was the matter.

When, what to my wondering eyes
should appear,
But a tiny, wee man,
 proudly smiling ear to ear!

He came bearing gifts!
He came with a letter!
It's Santa's secret spy...
Being good all month, we better!

The children, they giggled...
Poor Ky was mystified!
But wise Carson knew the truth...
"It's from Santa!" he cried.

We named our new friend "Cocoa."
We promised not to touch.
We heard he might be silly...
But surely not too much!

Each night he'll report to Santa,
but quickly will return...
We'll love and give and share all month.
This lesson we will learn.

We'll share the fun and mischief...
Enjoy the early morning sights!
This poem has taken way too long to write...
"Merry Christmas to all
and to all a Good Night!"
