One Fancy F.H.E.

Whenever we have friends or family over for dinner, our kids always do something really embarrassing, so we decided it would be good to have an etiquette dinner for Family Home Evening. When Kyler saw me getting our Valentine goblets out, he got really excited and disappeared upstairs. Minutes later, he and McKenna came back downstairs completely dressed up in their church clothes. (Kyler even tried to do his hair, and he never does that!) They were so excited to be fancy for the night! They spoke with English accents, carefully set the table, pulled out Justin and I's chair, sat with impressive posture, and corrected me every time I put my elbows on the table. It proved to me that they can have excellent manners... when they want to! It was such a fun night.

Zzzzzz....

Whenever my home gets quiet, I get really nervous because I know that Carson is either missing or up to something very mischevious. I realized the other day that my talkative little buddy had disappeared. I began calling for him, then searching for him, then frantically searching for him, then asking neighbors if they had seen him... when I finally spotted him napping in a most unusual place. He must have been beyond exhausted to fall asleep on the stairs!

Mean Parents

So, McKenna was given an assignment to write about something sad. It is always interesting to see what insight you gain into your children through their homework assignments... and scary to think how much their teachers know about us! This is funny. I'm such a mean dad!

Just the Boys Playing in the Pool.

We had a great time on Labor Day in Jackson Hole. The kids played in the pool, and on the water slides. Carson even got brave enough to go on the big slide with his dad. Such a beautiful drive this time of year.

We were at Grandma's house on Sunday night for a family dinner and couldn't help but catch a few seconds of her tickling Ashton. He has started to become much more animated and show his personality. He is ticklish just like his dad!

Gymnastics

McKenna, Kyler and Carson had their second gymnastics class today. McKenna got moved up a level, and Kyler is strong as ever (very proud) and Carson...well it will be a good learning experience for him to follow directions from his teacher. :)
